The Build Week: What Your Team Builds (and What's Ready Now)
Creator sign-up is opening soon. This article describes the creator experience as it's designed — what sign-up and your first build week will look like once the creator app opens. It isn't a live product yet, so treat the screens and steps below as the planned flow, not something you can log into today.
The first stretch of your time on PrepSmart isn't about uploading recipes or learning a dashboard. It's a build week: a team of experts assembles your profile, recipes, collections, and a sample weekly plan from your existing content — and you just review and approve it.
This article explains who's building, what's ready the moment you finish sign-up, and what lands over the following few days, so you always know what to expect next.
You Don't Build Your Page — A Team of Experts Does
When you finish sign-up, you'll see a screen titled "Meet your team of experts." It's the heart of how onboarding works.
A team of experts builds your profile this week — doing the deep research to find your brand voice, your recipes, and your content wherever they live. AI-assisted tools speed the work, but it's the team behind them that delivers an agency-grade result: what seven specialists and roughly $10K of freelance work would cost you to replicate on your own. It's free as part of your build.
You never re-type a recipe, format a card, or design a layout. Your job is to review and approve the work the team brings you.
Want the full picture of who's on the team and how the human review works? See How PrepSmart's Team of Experts Builds Your Profile. The short version: these are real specialists, and they deliver their findings to you in a review step — a meeting and a walkthrough of what they built — that you approve before anything goes live.
The One Thing the Build Needs From You: Connecting Instagram
Before the team can start, you connect your Instagram. This does two things:
- Verifies it's really you. Connecting your account is how PrepSmart confirms you own it — it's what keeps impersonators from claiming a creator's recipes and earnings. It's the one step that can't be skipped for you.
- Lets the team pull your recipes in. Once connected, the team matches your account to the research they've done and starts rebuilding your posts into guided recipes.
The access is read-only. PrepSmart can't post, like, comment, message, or follow on your behalf, and you can disconnect anytime from Instagram → Settings → Apps and websites.
If your build hasn't started yet, it's almost always because Instagram isn't connected. Connect it and the build kicks off.
What's Ready Now vs. What Your Team Is Building This Week
The moment you finish sign-up, some things are already done and waiting for your turn — and some are being built over the next few days. Here's the split, straight from the build screen.
Ready now — your turn
- ✓ Your earnings forecast & 90-day plan. An early estimate of what you're on track to earn, plus the launch plan that gets you there. This is the first thing to review.
- ✓ Your account, verified. Your following and diet type are confirmed and locked in.
Your team is building — this week
- Your profile & bio
- Your brand voice, captured from how you actually write
- Your recipes, rebuilt from your Instagram posts
- Your recipe collections & a sample weekly plan
Most builds wrap within about a week. You'll be emailed the moment your first recipes and weekly plan are ready to approve.
The Three Steps Before Your Page Goes Live
Right after you verify your account, you'll see a short map of what's ahead — three steps, in order:
- Tell us about you and your audience. Confirm your creator type and diet type so the team builds the right page, connect Instagram, and confirm your audience details.
- See your earnings potential. Confirm your monthly subscription price and see how your posting frequency and strategy shape your earnings potential. (More on what these numbers mean below.)
- Go live. Your 90-day launch plan and next steps are waiting in the app.
That's the whole arc: confirm → forecast → go live. None of it is data entry.
Your Earnings Forecast Is a Floor, Not a Promise
During step 2 you'll set your monthly price and see a forecast. A few honest things to keep in mind:
- The forecast is an illustrative model output, not a guarantee. It's built from your audience size, your price, and how often you post and link back.
- It's framed as a floor, not a ceiling — a starting estimate that updates with your real data over your first 30–60 days, replacing the model with what's actually happening.
- Most creators set their price around the suggested $6.99/mo. You're free to set it anywhere; the forecast simply recalculates.
The goal of the forecast isn't a big headline number — it's to point you at your first milestones: your first 10 Founding Subscribers, your first $100 payout. Those come first; the bigger numbers follow.
You Can Go Live Right Away — the Team Finishes in the Background
Here's the part that surprises most creators: you don't have to wait for the build to finish to go live.
You can publish your page as soon as sign-up is done. Your shareable link is reserved and ready, your profile and bio are being finished by the team this week, and your recipes are being organized in the background. You go live now; the team wraps the last details over the following days.
If you'd rather wait until everything's approved before publishing, that's fine too. Either way, nothing about your normal routine changes — you keep posting exactly as you always have, and PrepSmart gives you a link to invite your followers to follow you here.
While You Wait: A Few Useful Head Starts
The build runs on its own, but there are a couple of things only you can do that make your page convert better the moment it's live:
- Add a profile photo. Pages with a photo convert roughly twice as well. You can do this right away.
- Connect payouts. Setting this up early means you're ready the moment your first $100 lands.
Both are optional to start, but both are quick — and both are waiting in your setup checklist.
A Real Person Is in Your Corner From Day One
You're not doing the build week alone. From day one you have a Growth Strategist — a real person, backed by the team that built your profile and the engine that grows it.
Your Strategist is your single point of contact: one message, no tickets, no transfers. They're part of the same team of experts who built your page, so when you have a question about a recipe, your forecast, or your launch plan, you're talking to someone who already knows your account.
This is included — there's no tier to unlock to get it.
What This Build Week Is Not
To set expectations clearly:
- It's not you uploading recipes. The team rebuilds them from your Instagram. You review and approve.
- It's not a live analytics dashboard you're learning to operate. Your home screen during the build shows what's done and what's still building — it's a status view, not a metrics console. Real performance data arrives after you go live and replaces the early forecast.
- It's not a long, heavy lift. Most of your time is reviewing and approving. The team carries the build.
